(KPL) Three ancient Buddha statues were invited from France to their homeland Lao PDR on February 25, 2020. The Buddha statues will be installed at Wat Ongtue Mahavihane Temple in Vientiane Capital.
An official welcome ceremony for the Buddha statues will be held on Feb 27 at Wat Ong Teu Mahawihane Temple. High-profile people from various fields have been expected to take part in the ceremony.
An ordination ceremony for the Buddha statues will be held on Feb 28. Up to 200 Buddhist monks have been invited to take part in the ceremony along with laymen and Buddhist followers.
The returning Buddha statues include Pangsadungman Xiengsen, made from bronze, sized 47 cm wide and 75 cm tall, and weighted 35 kg; Pangsongsamphao, made from bronze, sized 30 cm wide, 54 cm tall, and weighted 10 kg and Pangsongsamphao, sized 30 cm wide, 50 cm tall and weighed 10 kg.
