(KPL) Prime Minister has urged developers in Vangvieng district, Vientiane province, to achieve as planned the construction of the Laos-China Railway.

He called on the constructors to make sure the railway construction meets quality standards, is in accordance with approved design and harmonious with environment, particularly with tourist attractions in the district. 

Inspecting the construction site of the Vangvieng Station of the Laos China Railway was among activities included in his guidance visit schedule for Vangvieng to encourage development in the locality.  

The Laos-China railway runs 145 kms through four districts (60 villages) of Vientiane province.

The Vangvieng station will be built in Huaysa-ngao-Phoudindeng village. According to its design, the station will be located in an area of 14 sq km, around 2 km from the administrative centre of the district.

The passenger terminal with a size of 5,000 sqm will be able to accommodate 600 passengers.
