R. Korea’s President Moon Jae-in Begins A Two-day State Visit To Laos

(KPL) The President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in has arrived in Vientiane Capital this afternoon for a two-day state visit to the Lao PDR.

Moon’s visit is in response to the invitation of President Bounnhang Vorachit.

Moon is the first president of the Republic of Korea to make a state visit to Laos to enhance the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

At a bilateral meeting held soon after a welcome ceremony held in the honour of the Korean President, President Bounnhang Vorachit highly valued the Korean President’s visit to Laos as a significant contribution to enhancing the friendly relations and cooperation between Laos and the Republic of Korea. 

Both sides highly valued and reviewed the relations and cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 1995. They noted that the bilateral relationship and cooperation have been enhanced extensively as leaders of the two countries have maintained a regular exchange of visits.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhance the relations and cooperation between Laos and R. Korea, and to further promote enhancing cooperation in various areas including visit exchange, politics, diplomacy, trade and investment, agriculture and energy, infrastructure development, innovation, tourism, health, labour, and rural development.
